Much has been written about George Soros. First, George Soros was born György Schwartz in Hungary and survived the Nazi Occupation of Hungary. He also made his way to England to avoid the Communist rule. His parents changed their name to Soros due to the persecution of Jews by Nazis.
A closer look at events of his life shows George Soros stoically strengthened by life challenges and instinctively and acutely identified right from wrong.
By the time, he made his way to England, a penniless teenager; his first jobs were as a waiter and railroad porter. He unashamedly accepted handouts so he could complete his college education with a PhD in philosophy at the London School of Economics.
Always George and his parents feared anti-Semitism. The name Soros is Hungarian for “soar.” In Hungarian the name is pronounced, “Shorosh.” Somehow in his move to the U.S., it was pronounced “Sorose” as many immigrant names were mistranslated.

Hendrik Hertzberg – “Puppetry.”
From typical Hungarian roots, George Soros is unafraid to speak his mind in a fair and equitable manner. His fear of the growth of anti-Semitism stems from his early experiences with Nazis.
In his article, Hendrik Hertzberg provides proof of right wing media’s attempt to paint George Soros as anti-Semitic. The attacks on George Soros seem to come from a need to paint him as a “wealthy Jewish man.”
These attacks are rife with violent imagery of World War II photos and other symbols of Nazism. It was Nazi, Josef Goebbels, Hitler’s Propaganda Minister, who said, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
It is easy to see how this strategy is used against George Soros. However, all lies have consequences and only appear to be truth when people are kept ignorant of facts. Once facts are known, lies are easily disclosed.
